Day Star First Nation Residential Renovations

KDM Constructors was approached by Day Star First Nation in February of 2018 regarding some required on-reserve housing renovations. While this was KDM’s first residential project to date, we were energized by the opportunity to provide services for one of our home communities. The project entailed a broad scope of required renovations, including but not limited to:

  • Roofing – Sheathing replacement and shingling
  • Mechanical – Furnace and hot water heater replacements, duct repair
  • Plumbing – Repairing leaks, re-rerouting lines
  • Electrical – Fixture hook ups, plug replacements, rewiring
  • Mold Remediation
  • Full kitchen renovations – Cabinet and countertop installations
  • Full bathroom renovations – Shower/tub replacement, vanities, fixtures
  • Flooring – Repair and replacement
  • Drywalling – Boarding, mudding/taping, finishing
  • Structural Repairs
  • Windows and door replacement
  • Siding, flashing, and various exterior work

The project was completed safely and on-schedule, while working with the client to adhere to a fixed budget. The community members of Day Star provided positive feedback to KDM on the workmanship, and were pleased that their own company was awarded the work.
